Looks like it is a never ending story of the big boys and the small fish trying to provide a free international calls on mobiles services using VOIP technology. It is interesting to note that 3 have their Skype phone which allows you to make free international calls on mobiles, maybe the big boys are frightened of Apple and Google.
At least with big G they look after you, they give a piece of the cake, but the current big boys dont want to play. They want to take the ball and play amongst themselves.
Anyway the future is bright, the future tell me that in time there will be yet another free calls to india number. Over the last 3 years, there have been many different systems enabling people to make free calls. I dont see that changing.
There are many VOIP companies out there and in time we will get free international calls on mobiles again. VOIP is here to stay. The big boys are running scared. Infact have you guys heard that in the US, there is a device called the Magicfone. Yes check it out on google, you can plug this USB dongle in to your computer and then attached your BT landline phone and hey presto you can call anyone in US and Canada landline or mobile phone for FREE!!!
Yes, this is true, I have tried it and the quality is ok considering it is free to call for an unlimted amount of time. Unlike here where with BT and Virgin you have these traiffs that give you a free call at the weekends or the evenings, but the forgot to tell you there is a 5 pence connection charge. What is this all about. I thought Free means free, maybe not it you live in the UK huh.
And also you have the stupid time limit of 60 mins, where you got to hang up the phone and redial the number. God, it never ceases to amaze me how large corporate companies will try to bully us the consumer
As Arnie says free calls to india will be back!!!
